JOY Sportswear GmbH was founded on 1st January 1977 by Claus-Dieter Grapentin and Norbert Pfletschinger.

1979
Two years later JOY sportswear is the first German brand manufacturer to introduce jogging tracksuits to the market.

1981
JOY sportswear becomes the largest German importer of sweatwear.

1984
Introduction of the BASIC programme and birth of pants Marcus, which is still today one of our best selling products.

1987
Introduction of a BASIC storage service and development of a depot concept (NOS), to react even faster and better to our customers requirements.

1991
JOY sportswear is the first manufacturer to offer sportswear trousers in three lengths: short, medium and long.

Relocation to the new built head office with integrated warehouse in Ottensoos near Nuremberg.

Start of production of special sizes (ladies: up to 52 or 26 for short sizes, men: up to 62 or 32).

Beginning of shop-in-shop system, to make the brand more visible in specialist trade.

Introduction of trouser presenter to highlight the product expertise.

Definition brand essence and target group: JOY sportswear is the only brand in sports retail which is committed consciously, consistently and sustainably to the target group 49+

Introduction of new logo and signet.

Introduction of JOY Body-Fit-Shapewear trouser range for women.

Launch of campaign "Suitable trousers for everyone". Focus on communication competence of perfect fit and und portfolio of sizes.

Launch of campaign "Suitable trousers for everyone 2.0".

The parent group Melchers Group merges the brands JOY sportswear, Venice Beach and HOT sportswear to Scoretex/HOME OF BRANDS with head office in Ottensoos and a branch office in Hamburg.
Reiner Unkel becomes CEO and management spokesman and Bernhard Helfrich CSO. -
2020
The proportion of sustainable materials is constantly increasing, preferring natural material..
